Thunderstorm Safety

7/29/2019 (Permalink)

Most people either love a good thunderstorm or hate them! Either way, we want you to be safe!

A thunderstorm warning means that a thunderstorm is happening in your area. At this time, you should be inside with any doors or windows closed.

A thunderstorm watch means that a thunderstorm is likely to happen in your area and you should be prepared to move inside quickly.

Even if there is no rain, if you hear thunder or see lightning you should immediately move inside. If getting into a building is not possible, stay in your car and keep the windows and doors closed.

Stay away from trees during a thunderstorm.

Do not swim during a thunderstorm.

Do not touch metal.

Lastly, do not use a telephone with a cord.

We want you to be safe during a thunderstorm, thunder and lightning can be very dangerous!
